SavvyPsych Director

Dr Simone Gindidis is the Director of SavvyPsych. As an Educational and Developmental Psychologist she works with people across the lifespan to achieve positive learning, relationships, and wellbeing. She provides collaborative and supportive educational and developmental psychology services to children, young people, adults, and their families. Dr Gindidis is a Board Approved Supervisor who enjoys learning with, and from, colleagues.

She flexibly assists with understanding a person’s strengths and opportunities for support by conducting comprehensive developmental, cognitive, and academic assessments.

Dr Gindidis employs a person-centred and affirming approach. She has a special interest in early years Autism assessments, assisting very young children (18 months - 7 years) and families exploring neurodivergence. She is sensitive to cross-cultural issues; fluent in both English and Greek.

As a digital health consultant her passion and unique skill set involve translating digital innovations into mainstream practice. She is passionate about research, commercialisation, and evidence-informed integration of HealthTech with psychological assessments and therapy.

Experience

Dr Gindidis works across primary, secondary, and community languages schools, in private practice, as a digital health consultant, and in tertiary education as a sessional research supervisor and university lecturer. She is also a Senior Educational and Developmental Psychologist at Monash Health in the Paediatric Neurodevelopmental Assessment Clinic.

Dr Gindidis was the first Clinical Lead at a preeminent digital therapeutics company where she was the internal and external key opinion leader for clinical best practice, development of serious game products for cognitive assessment and intervention, digital health content, resources, and clinical standards.

Professional Affiliations

Dr Gindidis is a co-founder, Director, and Fellow of the Australian Educational and Developmental Psychology Association (AEDPA; FAEDPA), a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS; MAPS) and Fellow of the College of Educational and Developmental Psychologists (CEDP; FCEDP). She is on the Educational and Developmental Psychologist Editorial Board, has held portfolios on the APS National CEDP Committee and APS Psychologists and Early Childhood Intervention Interest Group over a number of years.

Research and Publications

Dr Gindidis’ PhD research evaluated the clinical use of smartphone apps in adolescent therapy. She has published in academic journals, a book chapter, presented at conferences, and in 2023 co-authored a foundational training book for Educational and Developmental Psychologists.

Her research interests include: apps, MHealth - specifically ecologically valid mHealth research, digital health translation, ethics, serious games, digital and professional competency development.
